Steve Hutcheon

JRHT Board Member

Steve was appointed to the Board in December 2023. He has been a resident with JRHT since 2020. This brings an invaluable insight and feedback about the services we provide.

He has a wealth of knowledge and experience gained from roles as a Research Chemist and Polymer Technologist.

Alongside his scientific career he worked in education which led to him becoming one of the first STEM Ambassadors appointed in the UK. In this role he promoted Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics initially with North Yorkshire Business and Education Partnership and latterly, as the Learning and Education Officer for Science, with Leeds City Council Museums and Galleries.

He is also a member of our Accessibility & Design Panel and the Resident Communications and Customer Group.

He enjoys being involved with various community groups, particularly the New Earswick Disabled Swimming Club, New Lodge Gardening Club, the New Earswick Nature Reserve, and Local History Society.
