Road works

Please see below information from David Wilson Homes, Veolia and other contractors regarding work to the roads within Seebohm Quarter also known as Phase 3 and the district heating system.

  • David Wilson Homes via their subcontractor Hughes Brothers are planning to start work on the road remediation from 02 March 2023. Essential work has already been completed to expose the valves for the district heating system which are located beneath the roads. This will initially be focussed on the LAP area of St. Aelreds Mews. Impacted residents have already been contacted by David Wilson Homes.

  • Wasteclean a subcontractor of David Wilson Homes (DWH) continues to work on preparation work to clear the sewer and surface water pipes  which is required before work to the roads in Seebohm Quarter  can begin.

  • Veolia/Eneteq will be working in the area between the compound and Barron House to expose valves so these can be replaced, and a new chamber built for the district heating system.  To complete this work it will be necessary to close the road and shut down the district heating system.  Whilst the system is shut down, Veolia will also complete the outstanding work on Derwent Way (including the bus stop).Veolia will be contacting residents directly with more information including times, dates and impact of the work.

We have produced a complaint procedure to ensure that all issues which arise are dealt with in a timely and efficient manner.  The procedure details steps to take when an issue arises. Please follow these carefully to avoid delays in responses.

A copy of this letter and the complaint procedure has also been delivered to residents living close by to the site i.e. Holly Close, some properties on Meadland Mews, Derwent Mews, St Aelred’s Mews, all residents of Barron and Newman House, residents impacted by the Construction traffic route on Derwent Way and Fifth Ave.

We have also shared a copy of this update with Derwenthorpe Residents Association (DRA) to be put on their website as well as noticeboards around Derwenthorpe.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your patience and cooperation.
